Product Description Eye-catching as well as highly functional, Compaq's iPAQ
3765 Pocket PC features a powerful new operating system, CompactFlash
expandability, and a fast Intel processor. Its 64 MB SDRAM and 32 MB ROM provide
enough memory to hold a robust package of applications while leaving you a lot
of room for your own applications. The enhancements and improvements in
Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002 operating system make the iPAQ 3765 even more
powerful and easier to use. You'll get improved handwriting recognition, more
reliable synchronization, increased security, and the ability to chat via MSN
Messenger. It also features new Pocket versions of Outlook, Word, Excel, and
Internet Explorer. Work hard, but play hard, too. The iPAQ 3765 can play digital
audio files (both MP3 and WMA) using the Windows Media Player software. It's
also compatible with audible.com files, for listening to audiobooks, radio
broadcasts, and more. You also get the Microsoft Reader e-book software. The
color TFT screen produces 4,086 colors, and you can view the screen from many
angles and in a variety of lighting. Using the optional expansion jacket, you
can add memory and modules--such as modems and cameras--using CompactFlash
cards. Other highlights of the Compaq iPAQ include a microphone and a speaker,
as well as an audio-in jack. It features an infrared port for wireless data
transfer. The Compaq iPAQ uses five buttons plus a five-way joystick. The iPAQ
connects to either USB or serial ports. The iPAQ allows you to input data in
your own handwriting, by soft keyboard, or by voice recorder. Both audible and
visual alarms alert you to a scheduled event. At 5.11-by-3.3-by-0.62 inches and
weighing 6.3 ounces, the iPAQ 3765 is sporty and small, fitting in your hand or
sliding into your pocket with ease. Compaq has also built in utilities so that
frequent actions--such as switching between tasks, adjusting volume, and
changing backlighting--are only a click away. The iPAQ 3765 has a built-in
lithium rechargeable battery that gives up to 12 hours of battery life. It also
comes with a docking cradle, AC adapter for battery charging, and a USB
connection cable. Compaq offers a one-year warranty on parts and labor. What's

5 stars Rock solid PDA with room to improve. , January 4, 2002 Reviewer: Pete
Gilligan (Edina, MN United States) - See all my reviews I used an iPaq 3600
series, and was able to get it upgraded to an 3700. I have always been a fan of
the iPaq series from Compaq, not only the most attractive, but the most powerful
PocketPCs on the market. However, now that all of the PocketPCs will be running
on the StrongARM processors that gave iPaq's their edge, it's hard to say
without a doubt the iPaq is the best buy - it still is the best looking handheld
by far. It's 12-bit screen, can seem washed out when compared to the 16-bit
models of the other models (which, by the way, are at least $... more), but is
readable even in direct sunlight. The iPaq also lacks built in expansion options
(the 3800 series includes a SD digital slot). I have a CompactFlash sleeve I use
for my CompactFlash Wi-Fi card and memory cards, but it adds bulk to the
otherwise sleek design. Other companies are releasing their products with BOTH
CompactFlash and SD digital integrated. The iPaq does have its strong points
though. These expansion packs allow for a great deal of expandability. Don't
want CompactFlash? Pick up a PC card sleeve. Or maybe the DUEL PC card sleeve.
Or the CompactFlash sleeve with a bluetooth receiever. Compaq is releasing other
expansion sleeves with cell phones integrated - this gives the iPaq the ability
to expand to a great level more than that of the competition. When it all comes
down to it, the iPaq 3700 series is the cheapest, BEST looking PocketPC on the
market. The 3800, atleast in my opinion, is ugly in comparision (and also feels
heavier in your hand). It would be nice to see an integrated CompactFlash slot,
though. Was this review helpful to you? ( Report this ) 21 of 22 people found

29, 2002 Reviewer: Brent A Cupp (Bonney Lake, WA.) - See all my reviews I
purchased this IPAQ about a month ago to use at home, work, and college. The
main feature I like is being able to consolodate all phone numbers, contacts,
and Microsoft Office documents into one little device. I've eliminated reems of
paperwork with my IPAQ and I'm very glad I purchased it. BUT the support from
Compaq is terrible. I'm a Social Worker, NOT a computer programmer. Yet my IPAQ
comes with a small owner's manual and very little useful online advice that is
actually written in plain English. Navigating their web site is tricky. The
PocketPC software (Microsoft) is mostly straightforward and easy to use
(ingenious really), but there's no simple way to schedule an appointment with
your contacts--why not? Isn't that why you buy a handheld computer? Word of
advice: If you're going to be using your IPAQ more than 4 hours a day, then you
might want to upgrade to the IPAQ H3850 simply because the 3850 has a much
longer battery life. My battery dies within about 2-4 hours on LOW power. The
problem is you have to keep the unit charged to about 40% so it doesn't
permanently lose all the data. Either upgrade to the 3850 or buy several AC
adapters to charge the thing. Even with all the complaints, I love the fact that
my IPAQ has made me a much more productive student and employee. Was this review

Amazing , March 23, 2004 Reviewer: Shaan Bhagat (Potomac, Maryland USA) - See
all my reviews The Compaq iPAQ 3765 is an amazing PDA. Well, it's not really a
PDA, it's an actual Pocket PC. You have to see it to believe it. It's got Pocket
PC 2002, and it's awesome. It's got Microsoft Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, and
basically Pocket outlook just spread into mini programs. If you don't want to
sit at your computer and read your emails cause your in a rush, just sync your
computer with your pocket pc and your ENTIRE inbox will be synced to your iPAQ.
I basically created my iPAQ into a super iPAQ. I got the keyboard(which is
fantastic), the dual slot flash card expansion pack, a 256 meg flash card, and a
MGM flash card reader. A Palm pilot is NOTHING compared to what this thing can
do. THey have so many application for this pocket pc. You can play your MP3's on
windows media player, watch movies or clips on PocketTV(Download the software),
Play games such as the Famous Age of Empires(INCREDIBLE) Rayman, Packman and
many more. Print with it, play multiplayer games, make cartoons on
PocketFlipbook(Download) surf the net(Need wireless), and more. Plus they now
have mad an espansion card so you can get PHONE SERVICE on it. This is one of
the greatest Technological creations ever. Was this review helpful to you? (

, October 2, 2003 Reviewer: An electronics fan It helped me tremendously when
doing my school work, This is because I could type notes on it (with an ipaq
compatible keyboard, not included) without using a BULKY and indiscreet laptop,
and easily EDIT my notes (sooo awesome and better than using the old fashioned
wire-bound paper notebooks) when I transfer the notes to my computer. Highly
recommended for students. BUT, the aspects of it that helped me in school are
ones that you could find in almost any PDA retailing about $150 and up (due to "DocumentsToGo"
and "4.0 student" software. Both are very necessary for students). You see, I
had a Sony Clie SJ20 before I upgraded to this, and I realized that both did the
same in terms of school work. The main thing I don't like about it is the
seemingly false advertising from compaq, saying you could get internet access.
Not that you can't, you CAN, but only after purchasing 1) an expansion pack:
WHEN YOU ADD THE EXPANSION PACK, FORGET THE TERM "POCKET PC" BECAUSE IT WILL NOT
FIT WELL IN YOUR POCKET. It also makes it heavy. I hate the expansion pack
because it's so bulky, and you can't find any cases on the market to fit the
ipaq and the expansion pack, except for the case made by the manufacturer. I
actually considered making my own case for it (because I'm into arts and crafts)
just so I didn't have to spend more money on a case. Due to the expansion pack,
I wanted to upgrade to one of the newer and smaller models of the ipaq because
the unit is so indiscreet with the expansion pack. 2) A compatible Sierra
Wireless Aircard: a lot of places don't even sell them 3) And setting up the
internet service you will get (your new account) through a phone company. Hard
for me, some places don't do internet access through pocket PCs. Not to mention
that the expansion pack is another $70-100 added onto the original price of the
ipaq, and there's the price of the aircard and internet service (so monthly
payments mean more money added onto the unit). So, when the company says,
"internet access", be very wary of what you're getting into because a lot of leg
work and money is involved. In total, the things previously mentioned are four
extra things that would have made me not buy the ipaq if had known about them
before. The other thing I wasn't satisfied with is the windows media player, on
which you can play MP3s. You can only play about seven of them, unless you
install more memory (and getting more memory means getting a memory card, which
means getting a dual slot expansion pack, which means more BULK...uggghh). I
haven't tried a movie or any visual on it yet. The battery power dies out
quickly as well. So be prepared to see the "main battery low" sign appear on the
screen every couple days or so (with regular usage). Overall, if you want true
satisfaction with this product, be willing to spend an extra $200-300, in
addition to monthly internet service payments, and go through a lot of leg work.
MY SUGGESTION: buy a more expensive PDA that has built in internet access (well,
if you want internet access at all...and if you don't, it's not really a pocket
computer/PC), or simply save lots of money and don't buy a PDA with internet
access. It seems that there are lots of great PDAs on the market that have all
the same features that the ipaq 3765, minus the internet. Overall, the whole
internet illusion that is set forth by pocket PC manufacturers isn't as easy to
obtain as it seems with any pocket PC out right now (because even with the ones
that claim they have built in internet, you still have to buy a specific and
very expensive internet card, in addition to monthly service payments. Hope this
helps!! Was this review helpful to you? ( Report this ) 3 of 3 people found the

Right! , February 21, 2003 Reviewer: An electronics fan I like the features of
the unit. The PC compatibility, the ease of the async software and the display.
However, like many many others, I am very disappointed with the longevity of the
battery life. To put it bluntly, It SUCKS! Maybe 4-6 hours in the standby mode
while not in use and at best 1-2 hours when on. It must stay in the charger to
be any good at all. Also, with no backup battery to hold data, a long day or
trip is out of the question unless you can charge in route. My advise...look at
another option to purchase if you need to use this other then on your desk and
in the charger cradle. Was this review helpful to you? ( Report this ) See all

Compaq's iPAQs were the pick of the first round of Pocket PC releases. Now that
Microsoft has released a new version of its Pocket PC operating system (Pocket
PC 2002), the company's previous hardware partners have all updated their
products and some new players have joined in. The net result is greater
competition--so how does Compaq fare? The new range of iPAQ is available in two
versions. The iPAQ 3765 is much like the popular 3635 model, but has the new OS
on board. The iPAQ 3835, our review unit, is similar in body, but adds a few
extra features. The 3835 is driven by Intel's fast StrongARM processor, which
runs at 206 MHz, and is outfitted with a healthy 64 MB RAM. The Pocket PC 2002
OS itself is stored on the 32 MB flash ROM, so you should be able to easily
install OS updates as they come along. The screen quality is superb and can show
over 65,000 colors--a greater color depth than the 3765. Most hardware expansion
is provided via an optional CompactFlash expansion jacket, with CF cards and
modules from previous iPAQs largely compatible with the iPAQ 3835. Note,
however, that this does not carry through to hardware add-ons that use the
docking port (such as keyboards), as the connector on the 3835 is different than
on the 3635 or 3765. Additionally, there is now a built-in expansion slot
onboard that enables you to add both software and hardware to the iPAQ without
the need for the CF expansion jacket. This slot is compatible with both Secure
Digital (SD) and MultiMediaCard (MMC) memory cards. The iPAQ's design and build
quality are superb; this is still the best-looking Pocket PC around. The docking
station is both USB and serial--this "one size fits all" approach is intelligent
and user friendly. Data input has also been improved, including the ability to
register more than one button press at a time, making speedy gaming possible as
some light relief from all the serious work you can set the device to. Overall,
Compaq's new iPAQ 3835 beats the rest for looks and performance. The built-in
SD/MMC expansion card slot is a plus, and the iPAQ becomes an even more powerful
productivity machine with the addition of the optional CompactFlash jacket.

The Ipaq 3835 finally lured me away from Palm , January 22, 2002 Reviewer:
"benevolabooks" (Rockville, MD USA) - See all my reviews I was a Palm user ever
since the original Palm Pilot about 5 years ago. I never thought that anything
could pry me from my beloved Palm Vx...until this latest generation of Compaq
Ipaqs. Now, I'll never go back! I have over 1,000 contacts in MS Outlook, plus
loads of appointments and tasks and everything converted seamlessly to the Ipaq.
(But make a backup just in case as it is not wise to tempt fate.) I am thrilled
that I finally have true MS Office integration with my PDA - including automatic
synchronizing of files. Of course the Pocket PC is not all work and no play: I
read ebooks on it, play mpeg videos, and listen to music and audio books. It can
even read my email to me while I am driving! Compaq bundles a LOT of software
with the Ipaq 3835 (the only difference between the 3835 and the 3850 is that
the 3835 comes with Peacemaker which allows you to beam via infrared to other
PDAs including those using the Palm OS). However, the Compaq version of
Dashboard totally crashed my Ipaq and I had to do a hard reset (yes, I do
believe in backing up!). A corrected version of Dashboard is now available, but
I've decided I don't really need it. BTW, the installation disk comes with a
full version of MS Outlook 2002 as it is strongly suggested that you should have
the upgrade installed on the PC you syn your Pocket PC to. If you aren't certain
about which Pocket PC to get, just keep in mind that the Ipaq's StrongARM
processer is considered the standard - most software is written for it. I've
seen lots of software that works ONLY with the Ipaq... Was this review helpful

of 5 stars Does everything I want, and More! , June 28, 2003 Reviewer:
"anthem2004" (Austin, Texas United States) - See all my reviews The title says
it all. This machine does everything I had hoped for with a very intuitive user
interface and so far has worked perfectly (been using it about 3 months). What
more can one ask for? One feature of this particular model is the ability to add
a Secure Memory card in a recepticle located on the top of the iPAC. You don't
need an extra "slip on" accessory to add memory with this model. I listen to
mp3s that I download a great deal of the time so the extra memory (I use 256MB
cards) is a necessity, as the internal memory will only hold half a dozen songs.
With a 256MB memory card you can have much more than a CD's worth of tunes right
in the iPAC, add a good set of ear phones and you've got great sound along with
everything else the iPAC offers. I usually take two or three loaded memory cards
with me so I have a huge variety of tunes to fit any mood. Never having used a
PDA before, I don't know how the Note Pad function compares, but the one on this
model works wonderfully in all three modes ... audio recorder, typed notes using
the soft keyboard, and I use the hand writen notes all the time to jot down a
quick reminder, like highway exit numbers when going to places I've never been
... its very easy to grab the iPAC, push the Notes button, having already
selected the note with the exit number or other directions, and read the large
print while driving. I know that there are newer models which probably work just
as will but don't think they have the memory expansion capability built into the
naked unit (I could be wrong about that). The ability to have all the expanded
memory you want in the naked iPAC is worth choosing this model, all else being
equal. Was this review helpful to you? ( Report this ) All Customer Reviews

5 out of 5 stars I've Had This For Over A Year And I Still Love It!!! , January
10, 2004 Reviewer: An electronics fan I looked online for hours to find an
affordable PDA that would allow me to do everything I wanted. I?m a full time
college student and I find I can take notes, set up appointments and have my
schedule on demand. I have my tasks organized and get more accomplished. I can
also pull up phone numbers and email addresses of friends, teachers, and even
restaurants when my friends and I order out. Plus I can play games while waiting
for my next class to start. It also synchronizes perfectly with my desktop
computer?s version of Microsoft Outlook. I can download maps to my PDA for trips
with step-by-step driving directions. The PDA is light and I can carry it in my
purse all the time without it weighing me down. The unit has held up great for
the year and few months I've had it. I know that newer systems have come out
since I bought this back in November of 2002, but if you find a new or used
version of this PDA I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. I also bought, and would
recommend, a zippered holder that is waterproof (I spill things on my nightstand
a lot.) It also helps protect the unit if you drop it. The only other thing you
might want is to buy the memory expansion card. It's only about $35 and it
triples your memory. You?ll find that you can fill up your memory a lot faster
than you think. (I buy too many e-books from Amazon!) I really think this is a
good PDA for a student or anyone else and I take mine with me everywhere. Was

23, 2003 Reviewer: Paul Piazza (Newark, Ca United States) - See all my reviews I
have owned Several Palm Based PDs and one Palm Smart Phone. This is by far the
best of the bunch. I never thought I could use a PDA as a palm comuter, but this
product does it hands down. I am an oustside sales person and really need to
have access to my Act Database and need to be able to access several XL files.
Not only does this product provide me the access and editing tools it also
allows me to print via IR to a protable printer in my car. Now my lap top stays
in the trunk and my PDA travels with me. BIG Thumbs up. Was this review helpful

of 5 stars I'm going back to a Palm!! , October 9, 2003 Reviewer: "drosenz"
(Colorado) - See all my reviews When I originally bought this PDA it had such
great reviews and I though it would be a good replacement/upgrade for my old
Palm (that never gave me any trouble by the way). I have had it for over 6
months now and I have been so unhappy with its performance. The battery life is
horrible!! I travel a lot and need something that I don't need to charge twice a
day. I don't play games or read books on it, so I don't use up the battery life
that way. The worst thing is that unlike Palms you lose everything if your
battery runs out!!!! Who ever heard of that. If you keep backing up to your
computer you can restore it, but you really have to be on the ball with that,
because if you don't too bad it's gone! I will admit it is a nice looking
machine that has some nice features, but I just bought a new Palm because I need
something I can rely on. Was this review helpful to you? ( Report this ) 1 of 2

2003 Reviewer: "tali1081" (OH United States) - See all my reviews I got this
almost one year ago after my black and white Handspring was stolen. I have two
problems with it. Some time it stop working all of the sudden, and I have the
press reset button. It works fine after that and you will not loose any data by
doing that. The other problem I have is synchronizing with MS Outlook. I had to
update the software which you can get from Microsoft website, three times until
it start working fine. Other than that I love and the colors are clear and
crisp. Battery last for a very long time if you don't keep it on all the time.
You will get a warning if the battery is low and will shut down automatically so
you won't loose data. Was this review helpful to you? ( Report this ) See all 77

User manual Customer Reviews Nice Features but..... I purchased this IPAQ about
a month ago to use at home, work, and college. The main feature I like is being
able to consolodate all phone numbers, contacts, and Microsoft Office documents
into one little device. I've eliminated reems of paperwork with my IPAQ and I'm
very glad I purchased it. BUT the support from Compaq is terrible. I'm a Social
Worker, NOT a computer programmer. Yet my IPAQ comes with a small owner's manual
and very little useful online advice that is actually written in plain English.
Navigating their web site is tricky. The PocketPC software (Microsoft) is mostly
straightforward and easy to use (ingenious really), but there's no simple way to
schedule an appointment with your contacts--why not? Isn't that why you buy a
handheld computer? Word of advice: If you're going to be using your IPAQ more
than 4 hours a day, then you might want to upgrade to the IPAQ H3850 simply
because the 3850 has a much longer battery life. My battery dies within about
2-4 hours on LOW power. The problem is you have to keep the unit charged to
about 40% so it doesn't permanently lose all the data. Either upgrade to the
3850 or buy several AC adapters to charge the thing. Even with all the
complaints, I love the fact that my IPAQ has made me a much more productive
student and employee. Buy This PC!!! Hello, I'm a 15 year old student from
St.Louis Mo. I would like to state all the great things this item can do! First
the screen is wonderful! All 4,000 colours are very vibrant. First comparison,
look at a Palm IIIc or a color Handspring Visor, there colors and pixels are so
larger it looks like a first graders handwriting and also they only have 8 megs
of memory. Second thing, 64 megs of RAM, wait a second, I thought this was a
palm-size computer, not my mothers IBM! HP eat your heart out, I saw your newest
Joradoa or whatever and it (...)! Tooo plasticy, and the screen looked just as
bad as a 548 version. I mostly use this item for games, my agenda and stuff. Why
didn't you just save your money and buy a cheaper one you say. Heres why;64 megs
of RAM, 32 Megs of ROM, Mp3 player, 48k of color, windows 2002, and finally
word, MSN messanger and excel. I also have just seen the new Compaq IPaq. Don't
waste your money, all it it is the same thing with 64k of color and Voice
Recondition, thats it for a price of a hundred dollars more, sure I would take
the uglyer less optional accesorized thing for the same price but I doubt you'll
ever find that. I have always been a supporter of Compaq, even though they were
bought out by HP, I hope they will still make there higher quality products.Sure
in a couple years they'll come out with windows CE 2004 and a 128k pixle thing
with 256 Mags of RAM that weights an ounce and can be on for 2 years without a
recharge, but 'till that day This Ones The Best! Amazing The Compaq iPAQ 3765 is
an amazing PDA. Well, it's not really a PDA, it's an actual Pocket PC. You have
to see it to believe it. It's got Pocket PC 2002, and it's awesome. It's got
Microsoft Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, and basically Pocket outlook just spread
into mini programs. If you don't want to sit at your computer and read your
emails cause your in a rush, just sync your computer with your pocket pc and
your ENTIRE inbox will be synced to your iPAQ. I basically created my iPAQ into
a super iPAQ. I got the keyboard(which is fantastic), the dual slot flash card
expansion pack, a 256 meg flash card, and a MGM flash card reader. A Palm pilot
is NOTHING compared to what this thing can do. THey have so many application for
this pocket pc. You can play your MP3's on windows media player, watch movies or
clips on PocketTV(Download the software), Play games such as the Famous Age of
Empires(INCREDIBLE) Rayman, Packman and many more. Print with it, play
multiplayer games, make cartoons on PocketFlipbook(Download) surf the net(Need
wireless), and more. Plus they now have mad an espansion card so you can get
PHONE SERVICE on it. This is one of the greatest Technological creations ever.

Staples Model Reviewed: Compaq iPAQ 3765 Summary: When working properly, I found
this PDA to be a great tool for keeping track of appointments, contacts and
tasks. It was definitely fast enough and I really enjoyed the look, feel and the
color display. After several months of use, the stylus no longer locked in place
and can be easily lost. Additionally, the screws in the back began to loosen and
fall out (and they cannot be tightened without a special tool.) Also, connecting
through the cradle became almost impossible as my computer could not recognize
the device routinely. Others in the office use Palms and have never reported
such problems. I was disappointed in the performance over time after starting
off on such a good note. Strengths: -Color Display -Compact Size Weaknesses:

model Amazon.com review: Compaq iPAQ 3835 Pocket PC For many, Compaq's iPAQs
were the pick of the first round of Pocket PC releases. Now that Microsoft has
released a new version of its Pocket PC operating system (Pocket PC 2002), the
company's previous hardware partners have all updated their products and some
new players have joined in. The net result is greater competition--so how does
Compaq fare? The new range of iPAQ is available in two versions. The iPAQ 3765
is much like the popular 3635 model, but has the new OS on board. The iPAQ 3835,
our review unit, is similar in body, but adds a few extra features. The 3835 is
driven by Intel's fast StrongARM processor, which runs at 206 MHz, and is
outfitted with a healthy 64 MB RAM. The Pocket PC 2002 OS itself is stored on
the 32 MB flash ROM, so you should be able to easily install OS updates as they
come along. The screen quality is superb and can show over 65,000 colors--a
greater color depth than the 3765. Most hardware expansion is provided via an
optional CompactFlash expansion jacket, with CF cards and modules from previous
iPAQs largely compatible with the iPAQ 3835. Note, however, that this does not
carry through to hardware add-ons that use the docking port (such as keyboards),
as the connector on the 3835 is different than on the 3635 or 3765.
Additionally, there is now a built-in expansion slot onboard that enables you to
add both software and hardware to the iPAQ without the need for the CF expansion
jacket. This slot is compatible with both Secure Digital (SD) and MultiMediaCard
(MMC) memory cards. The iPAQ's design and build quality are superb; this is
still the best-looking Pocket PC around. The docking station is both USB and
serial--this "one size fits all" approach is intelligent and user friendly. Data
input has also been improved, including the ability to register more than one
button press at a time, making speedy gaming possible as some light relief from
all the serious work you can set the device to. Overall, Compaq's new iPAQ 3835
beats the rest for looks and performance. The built-in SD/MMC expansion card
slot is a plus, and the iPAQ becomes an even more powerful productivity machine
with the addition of the optional CompactFlash jacket. --Sandra Vogel Pros:
Expansion card slot for SD and MMC cards Fast processor and good amount of
onboard memory Bright screen with great color depth Latest Microsoft operating
system--Pocket PC 2002 Cons: Use of CompactFlash cards requires optional
expansion jacket Description: Sleek, expandable, and wireless-enabled, the
Compaq iPAQ 3835 Pocket PC offers a powerful mobile computing tool that fits in
the palm of your hand. It comes with 64 MB RAM and 32 MB ROM, a fast 206 MHz
Intel StrongArm processor, and a bright LCD screen that displays 65,000 colors.
The iPAQ 3835 features a built-in Secure Digital (SD) card slot for adding more
memory and modules, from modems to cameras to GPS receivers. You can also add an
optional expansion jacket for using CompactFlash cards. With the enhancements
and improvements in Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002 operating system, the iPAQ 3835
is even more powerful and easier to use. You'll get improved handwriting
recognition, more reliable synchronization, increased security, and the ability
to chat using MSN Messenger. It also features new Pocket versions of Outlook,
Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer. Work hard, but play hard, too. The iPAQ 3835
can play digital audio files (both MP3 and WMA) using the Windows Media Player
software. It's also compatible with audible.com files, for listening to
audiobooks, radio broadcasts, and more. You also get the Microsoft Reader e-book
software. Other highlights include a microphone and a speaker as well as an
audio-in jack. The iPAQ 3835 features an infrared port for wireless data
transfer. It uses five buttons and a five-way joystick. The iPAQ connects to
either USB or serial ports. The iPAQ allows you to input data in your own
handwriting, by soft keyboard, or by voice recorder. Both audible and visual
alarms alert you to a scheduled event. At 5.3 by 3.3 by 0.62 inches, and
weighing 6.7 ounces, the iPAQ 3835 is sporty and small, fitting in your hand or
sliding into your pocket with ease. Compaq has also built in utilities, so that
frequent actions--such as switching between tasks, adjusting volume, and
changing backlighting--are only a click away. The iPAQ 3835 has a built-in
lithium rechargeable battery that gives up to 10 hours of battery life. It also
comes with a docking cradle, AC adapter for battery charging, and a USB
connection cable. Compaq offers a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
